These terms and conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase of goods from Camden Oil Paintings. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms in full, along with our Privacy Policy and Shipping & Returns policy.

Camden Oil Paintings is a UK-based business selling original hand-painted oil paintings online and from our market stall at:

PLACING AN ORDER​

1. By placing an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase goods. We will send you an email confirming receipt of your order.

2. This confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch of your goods.

3. In the unlikely event that an item is unavailable or a pricing error has occurred, we will notify you promptly. In such cases, no contract will be formed and no payment will be taken or retained.

4. We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.

5. Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible and may incur additional charges or delays. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to amend an order.

 

PRICING & PAYMENT​

1. All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP).

2. Prices include UK Value Added Tax (VAT) at the current rate where applicable. Customers outside the UK may not be charged UK VAT but may be subject to their own country's import taxes or duties (see Section 8).

3. Full payment is required at the time of ordering.

4. We accept the following payment methods: Visa and other credit/debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed securely.

5. Promotional prices apply only during the stated promotional period.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & IMAGES​

​

1. We make every effort to describe and display our products accurately. However, all information is provided in good faith and is approximate.

2. Images of paintings on this website are for illustrative purposes. Due to differences in monitor settings and screen calibration, colours may appear slightly different from the actual product.

3. Each painting is hand-painted by an artist and may therefore display minor variations from images shown — this is a natural characteristic of original artwork and not a defect.

DELIVERY

​

1. We aim to dispatch all orders within 2–3 working days of receiving payment.

2. Estimated delivery times are provided on our Shipping & Returns page and are given in good faith. We cannot guarantee delivery dates and are not responsible for delays caused by carriers or customs authorities.

3. If your order is lost or significantly delayed, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL (UK CUSTOMERS)​

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without providing a reason.

To exercise this right:

• Contact us within 14 days of delivery at camdenoilpaintings@gmail.com

• Return the goods within a further 14 days in their original, undamaged condition

• Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or damaged

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned goods, to your original payment method. We reserve the right to reduce your refund if the goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

RETURNS & REFUNDS​

​

1. If your painting arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at camdenoilpaintings@gmail.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or full refund.

2. If you change your mind, you may return your item within 14 days of delivery (see Section 6 above). Items must be returned in their original condition.

3. We are unable to refund original shipping costs for change-of-mind returns unless the item was faulty or damaged.

4. International customers: please note that any customs duties, taxes, or return shipping costs incurred on returned goods are your responsibility and cannot be refunded by us.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS & CUSTOMS DUTIES​

​

1. We ship worldwide. All international orders are shipped on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis.

2. Any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or handling fees charged by your country's customs authority upon arrival of your parcel are the sole responsibility of the customer. These charges are not included in our product prices or shipping fees.

3. EU customers: From 1 July 2026, all parcels entering the EU will be subject to a flat customs duty of €3 per item, regardless of value. Additional national handling fees may also apply in certain EU member states.

4. US customers: All parcels entering the United States are subject to customs duties and clearance fees regardless of order value.

5. We are unable to predict, control, or reimburse any customs charges. We recommend checking with your local customs authority before ordering if you have concerns.

6. All customs declarations accurately state the true value and contents of each shipment as required by law. We are unable to mark shipments as gifts or under-declare values.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES​

All artwork images, photographs, text, and other content on this website are the property of Camden Oil Paintings and are protected by copyright law. They may not be reproduced, distributed, published, or used in any form without our prior written permission.

 

DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY​

1. We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of information on our website but cannot guarantee that content is free from errors or omissions.

2. We reserve the right to make changes to our website, product range, and prices at any time without prior notice.

3. We do not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from use of our website or reliance on information contained within it.

4. Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total value of the goods purchased in that order.

5. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days and will do our best to resolve any issues fairly and promptly.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme or contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.

GOVERNING LAWS​

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer based in another country, you may also have rights under your local consumer protection laws, which these terms do not override.

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of our website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
